Fall In Love in Japan
“When you get caught between the Moon and New York City…The best that you can do is fall in love,” and so the song of Christopher Cross goes. But believe me it is not only in New York you will find love.
Tokyo can be as romantic too. I got a look over the pictures of the lovely couple Rene and Agnes Romero recently taken from their trip in Japan.
I envy them for they personally saw the famous Cherry Blossoms, the flower of Japan’s endemic cherry tree known as Sakura. Old Japanese believe that Cherry Blossoms are an omen of good fortune and also an emblem of love, affection and represent spring. “Cherry blossoms are an enduring metaphor for the fleeting nature of life, and as such are frequently depicted in art,” so they say.
They are also symbolic for they depict extreme beauty and quick death so Cherry Blossoms are always being used in film, art, manga and anime.
The Romero’s likewise enjoyed snowball fights at Mt. Fuji (Fuji-san). The majestic mountain stands 3776 meters, located in west of Tokyo and in the main island of Honshu. Mt. Fuji is surrounded by five lakes: Lake Kawaguchiko, Lake Yamanakako, Lake Saiko, Lake Motosuko and Lake Shojiko. It is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.
I wish I could visit Japan one day. I just hope that Mt. Fuji will still be there, standing proud and beautiful with snow atop its perfect cone!!! (Posted by Mini)
