White Sand Memoir
The sand is very fine. It is white. But I remember mocha. Or chocolate. They say this is better than Boracay. I haven’t been there. But this is definitely better than Siargao Island.
I am in heaven. Just walking in the small island of Potipot west of Candelaria, Zambales. A halo-like paradise that is embedded in the deep blue sea. I used to see this only in photographs. The bluegreen shore and crystal waters.
But last April 15, it was real alright. Our friends from the Advocacy for the Development of Central Luzon (ADCL) and my sister Den joined me in the trip to the amazing island.
Rent a boat from Uakon for P400. Brave the rushing waves in a 10-minute ride. Life could be so great! Feel the velvety water through your hands while on the boat. Taste the salty spray of seawater. Really, nothing is more divine than this. Just be there and embrace nature at its best.
The whole trip was really worthwhile. The signages entertained me the most. “Bangka for rent, go Potipot!” After the midday fun, a quiet sumptuous lunch in a floating restaurant across Romulo Highway.
