Electrifying! There is no doubt, ROCKminisce rules. Four seasoned rock bands of Angeles City brought down the house last May 29 at the Hawaii Bistro Bar in Balibago during the ROCKminisce reunion concert.

Alcoholica, Millennium 4th Clan, Cartoon Madness and Crossbridge electrified anew hundreds of rockers in the city, reviving the heat and excitement of the late ‘80s and ‘90s.

The bands rocked the night with favorite new wave, alternative and grunge rock hits by the The Dawn, Police, Greenday, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Incubus, Candlebox, Asin and more. The four bands are well-known in Angeles City and Pampanga, respectively winning various and numerous awards from San Miguel’s Battle of the Bands and Red Horse’s Muzik Laban during the ‘90s and early 2000. Although other popular bands were missed by the crowd, the four bands brought back good memories of the past decade.

Millennium 4th Clan vocalist Kryz Umlas was fully keyed up as usual but with a surprising aura that totally entertained the crowd, especially with his rendition of Californication. Millennium fans from former 3rd World Bistro Bar were all present. The band was a regular at 3rd World along Malabanias Road in the late ‘90s.

Meanwhile, Millenium lead guitarist Rommel Valencia and Alcoholica’s Paul Lauricio both wowed the crowd with their brilliant and exceptionally fast guitar chords. Bass guitarist Randy Santos of Alcoholica also played for the Millenium in the absence of Paolo who is now in Dubai.

The Cartoon Madness Band. John Paul Kelly on vocals, Dindo Castro on guitars, Jensel on bass.

The vocalists, Alcoholica’s Jay Timbol, Kryz Umlas, Digo Ytturalde of Crossbridge and John Paul Kelly of Cartoon Madness, were all in high spirits with their powerful voices sending back the audience during the great rock days of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Black shirts, booze, smoke, head banging and the echoing roars of the lively crowd made ROCKminisce a night that will truly be remembered.

The concert was organized by the bands themselves along with their avid supporters and friends. At about 9 p.m., the Hawaii Bistro Bar was already steaming with energy. The place was literally jam-packed with the bands’ families, friends, groupies and fans. It was indeed an experience, particularly to those who miss the height of ‘90s rockrakan.
