Festivities for the Fiesta Mimosa this coming September 22, 2009 will now run for five “grand” days in celebration of the event’s fifth anniversary, officials of the Mimosa Golf & Country Club (MGCC) announced.

MGCC General Manager Danny Licardo said the Fiesta Mimosa 5 aims to further “bring life” to the tourism industry in Central Luzon region “by celebrating music, love, beauty, life and all its gifts.”

“As we move on, the legacy goes on. No [global] crisis will stop us as we celebrate Fiesta Mimosa’s fifth year. The event is poised as the most awaited and grandest event of Mimosa Golf & Country Club and is again bound to conquer the hearts of many and bring life to the region with its festivities and celebration,” Licardo said.

Licardo said the commercial values in the annual event have been tremendous, adding that it now attracts more corporate sponsors and benefactors.

The Mimosa Leisure Estate (MLE), the home of the MGCC, is a subsidiary of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), said CDC President Benigno N. Ricafort.

“Undeniably, Fiesta Mimosa has reached this far partly because of the support and assistance of both from private and government sectors who believe in the cultural and socio-civic endeavors,” Ricafort said.

Licardo noted that they decided to add two more days to celebrate Fiesta Mimosa noting that the event has increased popularity in the region, particularly to schools that participate in the Chefs on Parade (COP) competition.

He said Mimosa will be offering promo packages to schools whose student-participants in the COP will be staying for at least three days in the posh Mimosa Leisure Estate (MLE).

Also, among the objectives of the festivities “is to promote Mimosa as an advocate of life, beauty, culture and environment friendly leisure through the different competitions to be held, both the new ones and the now very popular old ones,” Licardo said.
