SM Foundation Incorporated’s Felicidad Sy Wellness Center For Children is now in Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital . Last August 18, SM Foundation Inc and JBL inaugurated the center as part of the foundation’s 50th anniversary celebration.

Felicidad Sy Wellness Center is one f the projects of the Foundation that which adopts a hospital department by providing medical equipment and furnishings. According to Connie Angeles, the project aims to ease the burden of both patients and hospital staff by creating a child friendly and therapeutic environment.

And in the case of JBL, the foundation adopted the Out-Patient Department as one of the FSW centers. On their 50th year, the foundation has adopted 50 hospitals for the FSWC project. JBL is the 49th center so far.

Founded in 1983 by Mr. Henry Sy, SM Foundation has four areas of advocacy; Education, Helath and Medical, Outreach and Community Projects. Currently, SM Foundation has at least 49 Wellness Centers. Apart from the Felicidad Sy Wellness Center for Children, SMFI also creates Felicidad Sy Wellness Centers for the elderly, Felicidad Sy Hospice Units and Community Health Centers .

The center was inaugurated with Senator Juan Flavier, newest addition to the SM Foundation. Also present were SM Foundation Executive Directors,Carmen Linda Atayde (Director for Education), Debbie P. Sy (Executive Cirector), former actress Connie Angeles (Health and Medical Director); Shopping center management corporation, Eng’r. Roman A. Palo (Mall Manager, SM Pampanga), Ms Roselle O. Sarmiento ( PR Officer, SM Pampanga); and Dr. Venancio S. Banzon (Chief of JBL Hospital) with Dr. Yolanda T. Lee (Head, OPD &ER & Acting Chief of Clinics), as the inaugural guests.
