Her chanting cause people some goosebumps each time she renders a song in her shows and concerts.A product of singing competitions – Sarah Geronimo made it big not only in the music scene but in the boob tube and in the wide screen as well.

Sarah Asher Geronimo, in real life, was born in July 25, 1988. Daughters of Delfin Geronimo, a retired PLDT employee, and Divina, who used to run a beauty parlor in their house in Sta. Ctuz,Manila. She (Sarah) is the third among the four children with siblings Johna Rizzie, Sunshine, Grace, and Ezekiel Gabriel.

Sarah’s first music lessons came from her father. He would have her practice everyday to develop her singing prowess. Her baptism of fire happened when she sang on stage at age 2 at a mall show. She sang “Pasko Na Naman” with Pinky Marquez and Richard Reynoso. At age four, Mommy divina would accompany her to audition for various tv programs. Sarah became part of Kiddie Shows “Pen-Pen de Sarapen” (4-6 yrs. old), “Ang TV” (7-8 yrs old), and NEXT(8-9 yrs old). In between auditions, Sarah would perform at shopping malls and hotel lounges. She was one of the performers during the 1995 visit of Pope John Paul II. At an early age, Sarah would join as host in different singing contests the first of which was “Tuklas Talino” sponsored by Philippine Long distance Telephone Company (PLDT).

In March 1,2003 at the age of 14 Sarah emerged as the Grand Prize Winner of “Star For A Night”, which was then hosted by Regine Velasquez.the said competition catapulted Sarah to stardom when she belted out the song “To Love You More”. She won for herself P1 million and a managerial contract with Viva Artist Agency. Her prize money was spent for tuition fees and the operation of her eldest sister.

After this turning point what followed are albums, concerts, her own soap opera, a mainstay at ASAP (A Sunday Variety Show), supporting roles in movies, endorsements, and legions of fans. She was also tagged as “Popstar”, “Teen Princess”, “Role Model”.Sarah paved the way for the next generation champion singers which includes Mark Baustista, Rachell Ann Go, Raymond Manalo, Erik Santos, Sheryn Regis, Christian Bautista, Frenchy Dy, Jerome Sala, and more still competing.

Sarah also showed her popularity by joining the bandwagon of boxoffice hitmakers via her movies “A Very Special love” and “You Changed My Life”. When not busy Sarah spends time with her family and hear the Sunday mass. She would also enjoy reading J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and plays video games.

On June 20,2009 at 7pm K-Live Entertainment is producing a concert.Dubbed as “Sarah Geronimo Live in San Fernando”, will be held at the Brenz Z. Guiao Convention Center.Guests performers includes Billy Crawford, Mark Bautista, and the G-Force. (Story by Rey Pineda)
