MABALACAT, Pampanga – A 19-year old Kapampangan beauty from Apalit town bagged “The Great Bikini Open” title, including a cash prize worth P100,000 during the finals night held Saturday at the Xevera Mabalacat North here.
Cheyser Anne Mercado bested 17 other young ladies who hailed from Olongapo City, Las Pinas, and the provinces of Tarlac, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija.
Olongapo lass Rosemary Joan Turner won the first runner-up title, including a cash prize of P50,000 while Elizabeth Naluz of Las Pinas took home the second runner-up title and a P25,000-cash prize.
Another beauty from Olongapo City Felissa Joy Morales went home with the third runner-up title and P10,000 while Mary Jane Gama of Tarlac City won fourth place, including a P5,000-cash prize.
The following are the special awards given during the finals night:
Ms. Congeniality, Lorraine West; Ms. Photogenic and Best in Casual Wear, Rosemary Joan Turner; Ms. Telegenic, Mary Jane Gama; Most Professional and Ms. El Hombre, Cheyser Anne Mercado; Ms. Jancen Flawless, Effie Roxas Dungca; Best in Mardigras Costume, Aubrey Gail Alqueza; Ms. Body Beautiful, Elizabeth Naluz; and PTA’s Choice, Myka de Mesa.
Earlier, more than 30 beautiful aspirants flocked to the Hotel Vida inside the Clark Freeport to join the initial screening of candidates. The event is jointly sponsored by Sunnyvision and Globe Asiatique.
Sunnyvisions President Angelo “Sonny” Lopez, Jr. said the event is poised as one of the biggest competitions in terms of scope and prizes.
On the other hand, Delfin Lee, president and CEO of Globe Asiatique, assured that The Great Bikini Open will be one of this year’s biggest competitions judging by the prizes and cash awards to be given.
