In a four-day trip to Malaysia, the Rotary Club of Metro Clark made a remarkable partnership with their newly-found sister organization, the Rotary Club of Sentul headed by President Vijaya Lakshumi.

Leaving the Philippines last July 2, the Rotary Club of Metro Clark was led by President Maribel Sison and signed a memorandum of agreement with the RC Sentul for mutual development of both organizations and their recipient communities.

In a simple rite at the Restoran Wo Ng Kee at Jalan E 3/7 Thaman Ehsan, Kuala Lumpur last July 5, the two RC groups forged a long term partnership to further advocate Rotary Club’s commitment of “service above self.” Other RC Metro Clark members present during the signing were Sonny Dobles and Aira Suarez.

Meanwhile, RC Sentul officers and members also witnessed the MOA signing. The Rc Sentul officers are President Elect Peramis Rao, Vice President Raj Kumar, Immediate Past President Abthony John, Secretary William Fang, Treasurer PPV Bala, Membership Development PP Anthonisamy, Public Relations PP Punithemalar, Club Administration Dr Rajanthadran, Service Projects Raj Kumar, The Rotary Foundation CP Raymond Ooi, Service to New Generations Director Mahendran Maniam, and Sergeant-at-Arms Sivamalar.

In an interview with RC Metro Clark President Maribel Sison, she said the Clark delegation expressed deep gratitude to the family of Rotarian S. Pillai Anthonisamy and all the officers of RC Sentul for providing the best accommodations and extending great hospitality to the group. “We are very thankful to Rotarian Antonisa,y and his family for their hospitality. We are equally thankful to all the RC Sentul officers and members for sharing a great experience with us. We likewise congratulate Antonisamy’s daughter Andrea and son-in-law Srinivasan as they start a new life together,” Sison said.

The RC Metro Clark delegation also attended the wedding of Srinivasan Krishnasamy Andrea Antonisamy, daughter of S. Pillai Antonisamy last July 4 at the St. Anthony’s Church in Jalan Robertson-Pudu Raya, Kuala Lumpur. A grand reception followed at the Hotel Istana in Jalan Rajah Chulan where about one thousand guests graced the occasion. The proud parents of the newly weds, S. Antonisamy Pillai and A.M. Jessintha Antonisamy and Krishnasamy and Malathi invited guests from India, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and around Malaysia.

The wedding entourage included Antony Stanley and Anthony Rajen as the bestmen, Annette Antonisamy and Suhashini as the bridesmaids, Shyiam Kavinash as the ringbearer and Natalie Meera Nathan and Anne Priyanka as the flowergirls.

After the Catholic wedding at Kuala Lumpur, the two will wed in a Hindu ceremony on July 12 at Sri Vairavimada Kaliyamman Temple at Toa Payoh, Singapore.(Story and Photos by Mini A. and Aira S.)
